Menlo School moved into the semifinals of the annual Scott Roche Invitational: boys’ water polo tournament on Friday with two big victories at Menlo College. The Knights (4-0) routed Mitty, 18-3, and upended La Jolla, 14-5. Menlo will play Catholic Christian of San Diego on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the winner advancing to the championship game at Menlo at 4:15 p.m.

Jack Finch tallied four goals to lead Menlo against Mitty with John Holland-McCowan and Jack Lucas adding three goals each. In the big win over La Jolla, Chris Akin, Finch and Holland-McCowan all scored four times to pace the Knights. Goalie Keegan Williams had eight saves in the second-round win.

In other games at Menlo, Palo Alto lost to La Jolla in the opening round, 12-9, but bounced back to beat Mitty in the quarterfinals, 13-7.
