Danny Diekroeger threw for a season-high 333 yards and two touchdowns, but the effort was wasted as Menlo School dropped a 49-14 nonleague football game to host Carmel on Saturday afternoon. Diekroeger, a senior, completed 21 of 31 passes but that performance was negated by Carmel’s 526 offensive yards that included a running game that rolled up 386 yards. Menlo (1-1), meanwhile, managed just 77 rushing yards on 22 carries.
