Stanford grad Allison Falk, who scored the first goal in Women's Professional Soccer history, will play for its first championship as well.

Falk is a defender for the Los Angeles Sol, which will take on Sky Blue FC in the first WPS final Saturday at 1 p.m.

Falk was a second-team All-Pacific-10 Conference selection as a senior central defender and co-captain for Stanford in 2008, leading the Cardinal to the NCAA College Cup semifinals.

She was acquired by the Sol with the third pick of the second round (10th overall) and started 16 regular-season matches.

WPS, the first-year seven-team league, was founded by former Stanford standout Tonya Antonucci, who also serves as the league's commissioner. Antonucci twice led the Cardinal in goals, in 1986 and 1987.
