Stanford reached the finals of the USA Water Polo Women's 20-Under National Championship on late Thursday afternoon following a 12-11 overtime win over CHAWP in the semifinals earlier in the day at the UOP Aquatic Center in Stockton.

In the semifinal victory, Stanford held a 6-2 halftime lead and still was in front at 7-6 after three periods. CHAWP tied the match in the fourth quarter with 5:00 to play and eventually took the lead at 10-9 with just 50 seconds to play.

Stanford then drew a kickout and called time. With a 6-on-5 advantage, Melissa Seidemann scored to send the match to a pair of mandatory overtimes. CHAWP grabbed an 11-10 lead in the first extra period before Sacred Heart Prep grad Pallavi Menon scored twice for Stanford. The second OT was scoreless but Stanford had the important victory.
