The Palo Alto 13-year-old all stars will live to see another game in the Northern California State Tournament after defeating Woodland, 4-1, on Sunday morning in Alameda.
Bolstered by a complete game from Alex Aguiar, Palo Alto held Woodland off the scoreboard until the seventh inning.
Contrary to Saturday's game in which Palo Alto committed four errors, the team's defense was much more reliable on Sunday. Palo Alto executed a perfect double play in the sixth inning, which helped keep Woodland scoreless.
With the win, Palo Alto survives to play again on Monday at 5 p.m. Palo Alto would need to win Monday's game and four following games to win the NorCal State Tournament.
