In2Change 7, Corium International 6
Date of competition: Tuesday, June 30, 2009
It will be top-seeded In2Change taking on No. 2 Menlo Park Chevron in the championship game of the Palo Alto Babe Ruth 15-under City Tournament on Wednesday at Baylands Athletic Center at 5:30 p.m. Despite their seeding, Menlo Park Chevron is in the driver's seat and must be beaten twice to lose the title. A second game, if necessary is scheduled for 8 p.m.
In2Change earned a rematch with Menlo Park Chevron by defeating Corium International, 7-6, on Tuesday night in an elimination finale. In2Change now hopes to avenge last Saturday's 12-0 beating at the hands of Menlo Park Chevron in the second round.
Dylan Cook kept In2Change's hopes alive by driving in the winning run in the seventh. With one out, Jordan Winawer drew a walk off Corium reliever Robert Wickers and went to second on a pass ball. Freddy Avis was then intentionally walked. That set the stage for Cook, who lined the first pitch he saw into left center to drive in Winawer with the game winner.
