Fifth-seeded Old Pro remained alive in the Palo Alto Little League City Tournament with a 5-0 victory over No. 7 seed All Out Baseball on Tuesday at Hoover Park. Old Pro remained alive by getting a combined three-hitter from Henry Hughes, Preston Kuppe, Jonathan Davis and Griffin Cool. By splitting up the pitching, Old Pro will have all four available again for Thursday's showdown with Alhouse.
Old Pro scored all the runs it needed in the first inning on a double by Justin Hull and singles by Cool and Jai Correa. Old Pro lengthened its 2-0 lead in the second when Cool had another RBI single. Correa and McKinley Kalar finished the scoring with RBI hits.
The semifinals will be played Thursday, with Alhouse taking on Old Pro at Middlefield and Palo Alto VP facing LPM at Hoover Park, both at 3 p.m. The winners will advance to Saturday's championship game at Middlefield, starting at 3 p.m. Should Alhouse reach Saturday's game and lose, a challenge game will be played Sunday at 1 p.m.
