LPM topped All Out Baseball 6-4 in extra innings on May 13 at Hoover’s little league ballpark in Palo Alto. Both sides were down to 9 players, but all the boys sustained play through 8 innings. All Out pitchers Alec Olmstead, Will Snodgrass, and Jason Ballard held LPM’s offense in check to the end, stranding 13 LPM baserunners. LPM saw hits by Ravi Levens (2 singles), Sean Weller (2 singles), Jasper McEvoy (single), Josh Weiner (single), Willie Barnett (single), and most notably a first-ever hit by newly recruited player Bryce Verplanke who pounded a game-winning double in the 8th. All Out hit well to keep the game close: Jason Ballard singled, Griffen Byer singled twice, Will Snodgrass singled twice and doubled, Alec Olmstead singled, and Peter Snodgrass singled. But LPM’s pitchers performed well in the clutch, with Ravi Levens, Sean Weller, and Jasper McEvoy combining to strike out 15 batters.
