In a Little League game under the lights at the Middlefield ballpark on April 18 in Palo Alto, LPM outscored Palo Alto Venture Partners 11-8. Both teams displayed strong pitching: LPM’s Sean Stem (75 pitches), Roy Shadmon (40 pitches), and Ravi Levens (1 pitch) held Partners to 7 hits, while Partners’ Joe Kelmon (40 pitches), Shaun Pike (83 pitches), and Jeffrey Herr (19 pitches) allowed only 6 hits. But both teams’ hitters had good at-bats, running up the pitch count and often drawing walks. With men on, both teams hit well in the clutch – including hits by Amit Rao, Forrest Larson, Daniel Hald, Raymond Li, and Shaun Pike for Partners and by Rowan McEvoy, Ravi Levens, Jaspar McEvoy, Max Tannenwald, and Willie Barnett for LPM. The game also featured impressive diving outfield catches by LPM’s Max Tannenwald and Partners’ Raymond Li.
