The nationally No. 2-ranked Stanford women's soccer team started fast but finished slow, allowing a late goal in regulation to visiting No. 10 USC and winding up settling for a 1-1 overtime tie in Pac-10 play on Sunday. Stanford junior Lizzy George scored in the 44th minute, but Amy Rodriguez of USC countered in the 84th minute. Cardinal keeper Kira Maker had a career-high eight saves, two of which stopped sure USC goals. Stanford is now 10-2-2 overall on the season and USC is 11-1-2.
