Correct this score or report an objectionable comment

The Sacred Heart Prep football team didn't attempt a single pass on Saturday in its nonleague game at Carmel, because the Gators didn't have to. Instead, SHP rushed for 408 yards in its 54-38 triumph as sophomore running back Matt Walter had 19 carries for 151 yards and five touchdowns. Junior Matt Bocci returned a kiokoff 85 yards for a TD and senior Giordano Capovilla scored on a 55-yard run while rushing for 128 yards on 13 carries as the Gators improved to 6-1.

To the person who flagged this story and reported what had been printed in the Monterey Herald, yes, we've read that story (which is also incomplete). We still will stick with Walter rushing for 151 and Capovilla running for 128, given the fact those stats came from one of their coaches while the Herald could have easily mixed up the two SHP players. In addition, there was no byline on the Herald story, thus making the stats from the Carmel coaches (on the SHP players) even more suspect. So, we're sticking with what we received from Sacred Heart Prep.

The Monterey Herald story was incorrect, as were the statistics. The Sacred Heart Prep stats also were incorrect. Giordano Capovilla was SHP's leading rusher with more than 150 yards and Matt Bocci's kickoff return for a touchdown was 85 yards and not 70, as the Herald reported. The SHP stats are off because its statkeeper missed one series when he had to leave the field.
