Despite a cool Spring mist, LPM and Stanford Electric played ball in Palo Alto Little League action on Thursday April 9. Stanford Electric jumped to an early lead on clutch hitting by Jack Brook, Corbin Koch, Jason Trisler, and Eric Maser – and extended their lead to 5-0 in the second with a double by Ben Cleasby and a single by Lawrence Han. LPM answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the second on doubles by Sean Stem and rookie hitting sensation Jack Simison and a single by Garrett Reynolds. LPM notched another run in the third on hits by Sean Weller and Jack Similson, and then tied the game in the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth, after a single by Rowan McEvoy and a fielder’s choice by Ravi Levens, LPM slugger Roy Shadmon ended the game with a booming two-run walk-off homer 50 feet beyond the center field fence. Both sides saw solid pitching performances: Ravi Levens struck out 7 over three innings and Sean Stem shut out Stanford Electric for three innings, while Corbin Koch pitched five strong innings for Stanford Electric.
