Gunn junior Sunny Margerum didn’t compete in her normal four events, instead running in just three, but she still won all three to help the Titans defeat visiting Los Gatos, 82-44, in a SCVAL De Anza Division track and field dual meet on Thursday. Margerum took a day off from the long jump, where she leads the Central Coast Section, and just concentrated on her running events. That must have helped as she lowered her own school record in the 100 hurdles to 15.20. She added victories in the 100 (12.74) and 200 (26.68) to lead the way.

Freshman Julia Maggioncalda won both the high jump (5-1) and long jump (15-5 1/4) and senior Allegra Mayer took the mile in 5:23.19. The Titans went 1-2-3 in in three distance events without having anyone double and still won comfortably.

As decisive as the Varsity Girls' victory was, I don't think they went 1-2-3 in the three distance events, as stated. Los Gatos got 3rd place in the Mile and 2 Mile events and either 2nd or 3rd (I can't remember which) in the 800 meters. Just wanted to give Los Gatos credit for their efforts!
