Missy Penna had her streak of 53 innings without allowing an earned run end, but she was good enough to help the Cardinal softball team beat Winthrop, 5-1, as part of the Stanford Invitational on Saturday.

Ashley Hansen had three hits and scored three runs, Jenna Becerra hit a home run and Maddy Coon had two hits and drove in two runs as Stanford (26-1) won its 25th consecutive game.

Stanford hosts Santa Clara in a later game Saturday.
