One good shutout deserved another as Missy Penna threw a four-hitter over six innings and Shannon Koplitz hit a pair of home runs and drove in three to lead the Stanford softball team to an 8-0 victory over Penn State in the Stanford Louisville Slugger Invitational on Friday.
Ashley Chinn shut out Illinois State, 3-0, earlier in the day.
Melissa Koutz added a pair of hits and three RBI and Maya Burns had two hits for the Cardinal (20-1), which extended its on-going school-record winning streak to 19 games.
Stanford hosts San Diego State at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by a game against Vermont at 3:45 p.m.
