The Gunn Titans defeated the Mountain View Spartans going into overtime for the second time this season knocking the Spartans from the #1 SCVAL position with a win of 10-9. Irene Kim of Gunn scored with 2:34 left in the second half of regulation bringing the score to within one from tying Mountain View. Then with 1:46 left in the game, Kim tied the score 9-9. Both teams were fighting for another goal to take the win and Mountain View had the chance with 2 seconds left but goalie Brindha Jaeger stopped the shot taking the game into overtime. Both teams fought hard with Chloe Li of Gunn scoring the winning goal in overtime. Irene Kim had 3 goals, Chloe Li had two goals, Shreeya Sethuraman had 2 goals and an assist, and Sophia Stern, Stella Manning, and Kate Williams each added a goal. Irene Kim and Tess Flinchbaugh led the draw controls with 7 and 5 respectively. Kate Williams led with 4 ground balls. Goalie Brindha Jaeger had a great game in the cage with 12 saves. The Titans have their last game of the season on Monday, May 24th when they host Saratoga at 7:00pm. Beginning at 6:30, Gunn will honor their 6 seniors including Lotem Efrat, Tess Flinchbaugh, Brindha Jaeger, Chloe Li, Shreeya Sethuraman and Kate Williams.
