Palo Alto junior Kelly Jenks scored all five goals to lead the No. 6-seeded Vikings to a 5-2 triumph over No. 3 Leland in the quarterfinals of the Central Coast Section Division I playoffs on Saturday at Valley Christian High in San Jose.
The Vikings (11-7-4) next will play No. 2 Woodside (15-2-4) in a semifinal on Wednesday at Valley Christian at 7 p.m. The Wildcats advanced with a 1-0 penalty-kick win over Mountain View.
Palo Alto (11-7-4) is a victory away from reaching a CCS championship match for the first time since 1989 and two wins from winning the program's first section title since 1980.
"It's definitely a reachable goal," said Jenks, of possibly reaching the title match. "We're just really excited. It's great to get past the second round."
Paly last reached the semifinals in 2003. Should the Vikings reach the finals. they could play De Anza Division champ Monta Vista, a team Paly defeated this season.
