Second-seeded Sacred Heart Prep will play No. 3 Notre Dame-Belmont in the semifinals of the Central Coast Section Division III girls' soccer playoffs on Thursday at Valley Christian High in San Jose at 4:30 p.m. The Gators (14-3-5) advanced in their first-ever appearance in the postseason following a 2-1 win over local rival Menlo on Saturday at Harker School. The Knights finished the season 14-5-5.

This was the third meeting between Sacred Heart and Menlo this season, The previous meetings ended in ties. Menlo's goal came on a penalty kick by senior Madi Shove, giving her 24 goals this season. "It was a tough way to end the season," Fitzgerald said, "but it has been a great joy coaching these girls and this team this season."
