The Stanford men's water polo team opened the SouCal tournament with a 16-5 victory over Princeton on Saturday morning at UC Irvine. Third-ranked Stanford (6-3) built an 8-1 halftime lead and went on the easy victory at Anteater Pool. Andrew Drake, Jeffrey Schwimmer and Michael Bury each scored three goals for the Cardinal, which will play the winner of the UC Irvine-UC San Diego match later in the afternoon. Palo Alto grad Gregor Horstmeyer scored for the Tigers. Menlo School grads Matt Hudnall and Mike Merlone also play for Princeton.
