The Stanford women's volleyball team dropped its first match of the season, 30-24, 21-30, 24-30, 30-27, 15-10 to visiting Washington on Friday night in a marathon Pac-10 contest at Maples Pavilion. Senior setter Bryn Kehoe recorded 62 assists to become Stanford's all-time assists leader. She also had 11 digs and six blocks. Cynthia Barboza had 20 kills and 17 digs while Foluke Akinradewo added 18 kills on .417 hitting and Alix Klineman had 16 kills. Gabi Ailes accumulated 24 digs and Jessica Fishburn had 15 digs. The second-ranked Cardinal (6-1, 16-1) fell into a first-place tie with the Huskies (6-1, 17-1). Cal handed Washington its first loss of the season on Thursday night. UCLA missed a chance to share in the lead after being upset by Oregon State in five games in Westwood.
