Notes: Stanford grad Maggie Steffens scored three times but the U.S. lost for the first time in nearly two years. The Americans' 69-game winning streak ended with the loss to Australia, the last team to beat the U.S. in April of 2018 . . . Australian captain Rowie Webster connected on a penalty shot with 30 seconds to play for the go-ahead goal. The Aussies were 3-of-3 on penalty shots while the U.S. missed both of its attempts . . . Stanford's Aria Fischer, Jamie Neushul and Jordan Raney each added a goal and former Cardinal standout Gabby Stone recorded 10 saves.
