Menlo School grads James Thygesen and Niko Bhatia helped the Bears win its NWPC contest in New Rochelle, N.Y. Thygesen scored five goals on six shots, added two assists, a steal and drew two exclusions. Bhatia scored a goal and drew an exclusion.
Whittier 13, Johns Hopkins 10 (at Claremont)
Sacred Heart Prep alum Finn Banks scored twice, added three assists, a steal and drew an exclusion for Johns Hopkins. Menlo grad Jayden Kunwar added a goal, an assist and drew two exclusions.
Air Force 18, Cal Tech 5 (at La Verne)
Sacred Heart Prep alum Corey Tanis scored a goal and drew an exclusion for the Falcons.
at St. Francis Brooklyn 17, M.I.T. 9
Former Menlo School standout Miller Geschke scored four goals, recorded an assist and drew two exclusions for M.I.T.
Geschke came back with three goals and two assists in M.I.T's 9-8 sudden death victory over Iona in seven overtimes. He also drew three exclusions and recorded a steal.
Pepperdine 13, Pomona-Pitzer 7 (at Claremont)
Former Sacred Heart Prep star JC Marco recorded 11 saves, a .611 save percentage, to help the Waves to victory.
California 10, at San Jose State 8 (2 ot)
Menlo School grad Sam Untrecht recorded a steal in the final 10 seconds of the second overtime to secure Cal’s victory.
Claremont-Scripps-Mudd 8, Cal Baptist 7 (at Claremont)
Former Menlo-Atherton standout Noah Smith recorded seven saves and had a steal as C-M-S came from behind to down Cal Baptist. Sacred Heart Prep alum CJ Box scored midway through the third period to bring the Stags within one. SHP grad Kyle Ballack added an assist and made two steals.
UC San Diego 17, Wagner 9 (at Claremont)
Gunn High grad Calder Hilde-Jones scored three times and drew four exclusions in the Tritons win over Wagner. Sacred Heart Prep alum Alexander Nemeth got the start in goal and recorded five saves. He also had an assist.
