Gunn's solid performance at home over Los Gatos in a 3-1 win moves the Titans into a tie for second place in the SCVAL De Anza Division with Milpitas. Both teams are 5-3-2. The top three finishers will earn automatic berths into the Central Coast Section playoffs.

Gunn broke through with the first score at the 35th minute on Paul Marimoto's finish from Miles Mathews. Gunn was able to take advantage of its momentum 2 minutes later on Scott Baer's throw-in to Sean Parshad, who nicely slid the ball to Jorge Salazar. Salazar took one touch and drove a low shot that slipped off the left post into the net.

The teams played an up-and-down pace well into the second half. At the 71st minute, Ryan Wood and Sean Parshad combined on give-and-go sequence outside the penalty box. Parshad's last touch gave Wood room to carry a few dribbles and send a low shot past the Wildcats' keeper into the net. Gunn's defense withstood many rallies from the Wildcats, but Los Gatos didn't score until the 78th minute on Tjon's cross to Hayes.

The loss moved Los Gatos into fourth place at 5-5-1 (11-4-3), while Gunn's overall record improves to 8-6-4. Gunn's next game is Friday, 3:30 p.m. at Santa Clara (3-4-3). The Titans will conclude their regular season against visiting Fremont next Wednesday sat 5:30 p.m.
