Return to Dominance
Last season Julika Grosspietsch became the first Oak to advance to the NAIA National Tournament and she got off to a great start on Tuesday. Her opening round of 76 led the Oaks women's squad, which cruised to victory over Vanguard and Hope International. She was followed closely by Catherine Batang, who shot a 77 in her Menlo debut. Franchesca Garcia also made her debut as an Oak with a solid round of 82, giving the Oaks three top-tier golfers to anchor the team.
From the Stars
"Today's round had some highs and lows. I started my first nine pretty strong and struggled at the back nine due to my mental game. All in all, the score was okay." – Julika Grosspietsch
Menlo is scheduled to compete in the Sonoma State Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, September 16 and 17.
