The Gunn Varsity baseball team won a thriller against visiting Milpitas in walk-off fashion by the score of 5-4. Nathan Nakamitsu started for Gunn on the mound, going the distance letting up 4 runs (1 earned run) letting up 9 hits, walking one with 6 strike outs. Gunn trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the seventh. Nakamitsu led off with a single to start the inning. After a pitching change due to reaching his pitching limit, Milpitas pitcher Max Gonzales was pulled after 6 1/3 innings. Michael Panitchpakdi scorched a laser to left off the fence. Cole Mantovani followed with a single to right scoring 2 runners to the game at 4. Eric Epstein ended the game with his second walk off hit of the year with a single to right scoring Mantovani. Michael Panitchpakdi led the Titans by going 3 for 4 with a double and a run. Eric Epstein was 2 for 4 with a run and an rbi. Ben Goldgof and Nathan Nakamitsu each contributed 2 hits. Aidan Everett was 1 for 2 with a run and a double. The Titans remain tied for first place in league and take on San Mateo High on Saturday in a non-league game.
