Stanford senior Josh Sharma and sophomore Oscar da Silva combined for 32 points but the Cardinal could not overcome Arizona State in an 80-62 defeat to the Sun Devils Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Cardinal (14-12, 7-7) and Sun Devils (18-8, 9-5) went back-and-forth throughout most of the game.

Stanford trailed ASU, 57-50, with 8:23 remaining. Arizona State scored the next four points and 23 of the game's final 35 points to finish with the 18-point victory.

Sharma, the Pac-12's field goal percentage leader, continued his torrid pace, finishing 7-of-7 from the field. He scored a game-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds. The senior center is 17-of-18 from the field over the last two games. Sharma is shooting 78.3 percent (65-of-83) in conference play.

Stanford, without leading scorer KZ Okpala on Wednesday, was hampered by a 2-of-21 shooting performance from beyond the arc
