The Palo Alto Redwoods 12U independent travel softball team continued its march in the Keilani Ricketts softball tournament in South San Jose by beating the West Valley Slammers 17-10 in the semifinals. The Redwoods made a statement in the first inning, garnering 15 runs, then held off a late charge by the Slammers with a solid pitching performance by Isabella on the mound. Leading the hit parade for Redwoods with 2 hits each was Thalia, Lexie and Lauryn, with the Lexie and Lauryn both impressively getting 3 RBIs each. Others delivering RBIs included Ruth, Vanessa, Lili and Isabella. Timely runs were also scored by Ella and Aarushi, with complimentary strong defensive performance by Sierra and others. This victory propelled the Redwoods in to the championship game of the 12U silver bracket.
