The Palo Alto Redwoods 12U independent travel softball team defeated Los Gatos Cupertino Saratago (LGCS) Magic 11-7 in the quarterfinals of the Keilani Ricketts that was played in South San Jose. Lauryn was impressive on the mound for Palo Alto, just giving up 3 earned runs. On the offensive side of things, the Redwoods' Hana was a terror on the plate, hitting a massive HR and also a standup double while knocking in 3 runs on a 3 for 3 batting performance. Lili also knocked in 3 runs including a very timely double. Ella also went 3 for 3 and scored 2 key runs. Palo Alto's hit parade continued with clutch hitting from Sierra (who scored 2 runs), Thalia (with 2 hits), Lauryn, Lexie, Vanessa and Aarushi. Palo Alto also showed strong defense with notable outfield performances by players such as Ruth and Isabella. Overall Palo Alto Redwoods garnered 14 hits with no strike outs, and held off a late charge by Magic to seal the victory and move onto the semifinals of the softball tournament.
