Golden State Athletic Conference
at Menlo 6, San Diego Christian 1
The Oaks improve to 6-2, 1-1 on the season while the Hawks fall to 2-3, 0-2.

Menlo received multi-goal performances from two players: Kori-Ann Koverman and Amanda Nebozuk.

Koverman scored first for the Oaks, who trailed 1-0 after Jessica Taylor scored on a free kick just 63 seconds into the game. Koverman took a pass up field and cut around her defender in the box to set up a one-on-one with Shelbi Horner, the Hawks keeper. She shot it past her for her second goal of the season, and it tied the game at 1-1 less than ten minutes in. About twenty minutes later, Nebozuk took a pass at the top of the box from Erika Negrete and turned around her defender to get a lane and scored her first of the game, giving the Oaks a 2-0 lead.

Nebozuk was the first to get her second goal of the game, doing so just four minutes into the second half. She took a pass from down low by Alexis Von Schottenstein and rolled one in for her eighth goal of the season, to lead all players in the GSAC. At 64:01, Koverman got the first multi-goal game of her career after she went coast-to-coast with the ball, outrunning three defenders, getting tripped up at the top of the box, only to recover, shoot, and score. That represented the fifth goal of the game for the Oaks, making it 5-1.

After she assisted on Nebozuk's second goal, Von Schottenstein got a pass from Nebozuk that she sent past Horner for her second goal of the season, this one in close proximity. Ariadna Ramirez capped off the scoring on the afternoon by tallying her first goal of the season against the same team she scored her first goal off of one year ago. It came on the second assist from Negrete, the first time in her career that she tallied multiple-points in a game.

The Oaks will host No. 22 The Master's University on Saturday at 11 am at Wunderlich Field. It marks the final home game for the Oaks until their final two games of the season, set to be played during OAKtoberfest Weekend on the 25th and 27th.
