The Palo Alto girls' soccer team failed to hold a 2-1 lead and had to settle for a 2-2 deadlock with visiting Los Gatos in a SCVAL De Anza Division match on Wednesday.
The Vikings (1-1-1, 5-2-4) took a 2-1 lead into the second half before the Wildcats (1-0-1, 6-2-2) knotted things up.
Palo Alto grabbed a 1-0 lead when, in the fifth minute, Hannah Ohlson took a free kick and sent it to Kelly Jenks, who headed it in. In the 13th minute, Los Gatos answered as Jessica Fee found teammate Shurre Irrizary, who scored.
In the 30th minute, Paly's Maeve Stewart sent a nice through-ball
to Jenks, who scored again for a 2-1 halftimt lead.
In the 44th minute, Los Gatos scored as Taylor Comeau crossed the ball to the center of the net. The ball bounced off Fee and her younger sister, Megan, was able to get the ball past Paly keeper Alex Kershner for the tie. Kershner finished with 10 saves.
