In terms of defensive performance, the Castilleja girls' soccer team got an 'A' for effort in its West Bay Athletic League match against King's Academy on Tuesday at the Mayfield Soccer Complex. The Gators, however, couldn't duplicate that on offense and had to settle for a 0-0 deadlock.
Castilleja (0-2-1, 2-4-2) finished off 2008 by outshooting the visitors, 12-6, having a huge advantage in corner kicks (8-1) and being whistled for just two fouls while King's had 11. The Gators, however, was called offside an astonishing 12 times, which led to the limited offensive production.
