The Menlo-Atherton varsity girls soccer team is now 9-0 in league play with a 3-0 win Burlingame on Thursday (at Burlingame). Senior Nicole Salz scored early in the game off a great cross from senior Margaret Child. Junior Josephine Cotto followed with a goal off a right cross from senior Katie Guenin, for a 2-0 score at the half. The entire Bears team had an opportunity to play in the second half, with the 3rd goal coming off a free kick by sophomore Yara Gomez, which she nailed high into the Panthers’ net. Bear’s goalkeeper Breanna Sandoval and her ever-reliable defensive front prevented Burlingame from scoring to secure the shut-out. Menlo-Atherton next plays Hillsdale (at Hillsdale) on February 7th at 3 PM.
