Game Highlights: The Menlo-Atherton varsity girls soccer team maintained their winning streak with an 8th consecutive league win over Carlmont on Tuesday. Senior Katie Guenin scored early, blocking a kick from the keeper to drill the ball into the net. Junior Josephine Cotto followed with a score off a perfect pass by senior Nicole Salz. Senior Margaret Child worked the ball up the field with a pass to Cotto for goal number 3, which Cotto scored after the keeper deflected the ball, for a 3-0 score at the half. The Bears eased up early in the 2nd half, allowing 2 goals by the Scots and a penalty kick called for interference. Menlo-Atherton quickly answered though with a goal by junior Ella Missan from a right cross by Guenin. Goals number 5 and 6 were tapped in by junior Diana Morales, off assists by Guenin and Cotto, respectively. Menlo-Atherton next plays Burlingame (at Burlingame) on February 2nd at 4 PM.
