Menlo College women's volleyball team recent hot streak continued on Saturday as the Oaks won their second game of the weekend road trip in five sets, netting them a thriller of a conference victory over the San Diego Christian Hawks.

Menlo dropped two of the first three sets but rallied from behind to ramble off set four and set five wins to down the Hawks and improve to the .500 mark on the campaign at 11-11. Menlo is now 3-5 in GSAC play at the midway point of the conference slate. San Diego Christian fell to 10-11 overall and 2-6 in the GSAC.

On two different occasions Menlo and SDC played to a 26-24 decision. The first of those came in the very first set of the afternoon and went the way of the Hawks. The set was tied on seven different occasions and saw the Oaks leading by a large margin, 7-3, early on. San Diego Christian rallied back and took its first lead of the set after tying it up 13-13. The score was then tied again at 23-23 and 24-24 before the Hawks scored the final two points to take the win.

Menlo rallied in the second set and took it with a 25-18 victory. The Oaks hit just .070 in the first set but turned the tables on the Hawks in the second and hit .133 while holding them to .026. Both teams came out swinging once again in the third and it once again went to an extra point. Yet again San Diego Christian came out with a 26-24 win but it was a well-played set from both side with Menlo hitting .178 and SDC posting its best hitting set of the night at .263.

Down 2-1 in sets, Menlo put together its two best sets of the night in succession to come from behind and get the win. The Oaks hit .289 in the fourth only to outdo themselves in the fifth with an impressive .500 hitting percentage to put the Hawks away. Menlo won the fourth set 15-19 and dominated in the decisive set with a 15-8 victory.

The offensive attack was balanced, with three different players tallying double-digit kills led by Moea Kekauoha with 18.

Fellow freshman Emily Sunada added 12 (.360) followed by junior Bailey Gamez who also added 12 kills (.243). Monica Hruby had a career night with a game-best 56 assists along with 12 digs a block solo and a block assist.
