The Menlo School boys are returning to the Central Coast Section soccer playoffs after defeating visiting Crystal Springs, 3-1, in a West Bay Athletic League match Friday. Even with a match left, the Knights (7-2-2, 11-4-2) will finish ahead of third-place Sacred Heart Prep (5-4-1, 8-7-3) in the standings and trail only King's Academy (9-0-1).
Against the Gryphons, Menlo overcame a 1-0 deficit 20 minutes into the first half. Then, senior Will Chisholm and the Knights made it a day to remember. The Knights pulled into a tie after Chisholm scored on a feed from fellow senior Matt Joss on Senior Day. In the second half, sophomore Dylan Williams connected with Chisholm twice to send the Knights to the postseason with one league game remaining next Friday.
