The Palo Alto boys had a chance to wrap up the SCVAL De Anza Division soccer title on Friday. The Vikings missed, settling for a 1-1 deadlock with host Mountain View. The Vikings dropped to 7-0-3 in league (24 points) and 13-0-4 overall and will have to wait until at least Wednesday to claim the crown when they host Fremont at 3:30 p.m. Mountain View took the lead in the first half, with Palo Alto answering in the second when senior Dami Bolarinwa scored off an assist from Ariya Momeny.
