After a scoreless first half, the Menlo-Atherton girls came out strong in the second half to defeat visiting Aragon, 2-0, in PAL Bay Division action on a rainy Thursday afternoon. Following a great pass from senior Sarah McLeod from the midfield, sophomore Josephine Cotto crossed a ball to junior Katie Guenin, who tapped the goal in after being deflected by a Dons defender. Terrific defensive work by sophomore goalie Breanna Sandoval, junior Ali Silviotti, junior Alison Galbraith, and senior Casey Love prevented any goals for the Dons, with consistent midfield work by McLeod, juniors Nicole Salz, Alissa McNerney, and Margaret Child, and senior Molly Briggs. The Bears (2-1-1, 4-3-1) scored again when sophomore Mara Cavallaro crossed a ball to Guenin, who drilled it into (and through) the net.
