The two-time CCS and defending NorCal champion Menlo School girls advanced to the USTA/CIF Northern California Regional semifinals after picking up a 6-1 victory over Pleasant Valley-Chico on Friday at Broadstone Racquet Club in Folsom. The top-seeded Knights (24-1) face No. 5 Dougherty Valley-San Ramon at 1 p.m. Saturday. Should they win, they will face the Saratoga/Monte Vista-Danville winner at 3 p.m. Saturday. Menlo faced Dougherty Valley in the Battle of the Bay, prevailing 5-2.

Against Pleasant Valley, Menlo junior Georgia Anderson defeated Ladann Kissat, 6-2, 6-4. at No. 2 singles. Kathryn Wilson topped Christina Wattenburg 6-0, 6-0 while Elika Eshghi beat Haley Barnhart 6-1, 6-0 at Nos. 3 and 4 singles. Menlo freshman Taylor Gould fell 6-1, 6-3 to two-time East Bay Athletic League singles champion Chelsea Hall. The Menlo doubles teams swept, led by seniors Mia McConnell and Melissa Tran at No.1, Kaitlin Hao and Vivian Liu at No. 2 and Lila Gornick and Lauren Creamer at No. 3.
