Varsity Girls Soccer
Palo Alto 2, Los Gatos 0
Date of competition: Saturday, January 24, 2015
Palo Alto Lady Vikings defeated the Los Gatos Wildcats on Saturday 2-0 at Palo Alto High. Paly's Varsity had not defeated the Los Gatos Varsity since December 2007. Paly dominated the game as Los Gatos did not record a single shot on goal. After a scoreless first half Paly wasted no time in the second half as Jacey Pederson took off on a run through the Los Gatos defense and drove a powerful shot past the keeper for Paly's first goal barely a minute into the half. Paly continued peppering the Los Gatos goal with shots. Finally in the 77th minute Natalie Maloney found Alison Lu near the top of the goal area. Alison was unable to find a lane for a shot but she did find Emily Tomz running to the far post and Emily tapped in sealing the victory for Paly.
