Palo Alto improved to 10-1-0 (4-1-0 in league) with a 4-0 victory at Homestead on Thursday. The victory allowed Paly to keep pace with Mt. View at the top of the SCVAL DeAnza league. In the 22nd minute Jacey Pederson intercepted a weak Homestead clearance and drove to the end line to the left of the goal. Jacey drove a low cross into the box, the keeper missed deflecting the ball and Ansley Queen turned the cross into the net for a 1-0 Paly lead. 2 minutes later Katie Foug's short corner to Jacey allowed her to fake right and get by her marker to the left, opening up the whole goal. Jacey powered her shot in at the upper near corner for a 2-0 Paly advantage. In the second half Paly scored again with Katie Foug finding Jacey Pederson in space and Jacey manouvered to find an opening before driving the ball past the keeper for a 3-0 Paly lead. Paly scored their final goal after Alison Lu stole the ball and dribbled upfield. Alison worked a give-and-go with Tess Preising before Alison slotted the returned ball home for Paly's fourth goal.
