Getting two first-half goals from junior Tierna Davidson, the Sacred Heart Prep girls grabbed sole possession of first place in the West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) soccer race with a 2-0 victory over host Menlo School on Thursday. Davidson took a pass from Mia Shenk and scored from 15 yards out in the 13th minute before blasting a 20-yard shot in off a free kick in the 28th minute. Menlo's best scoring opportunity came down, 1-0, when Cleo King's 20-yard shot hit the crossbar in the first half. The Gators improved to 4-0 in league (10-2-1 overall) while topping the Knights (3-1, 6-3-3) in league play for the first time since 2011. SHP also evened the series between the rivals since they began playing each other in 2009. Both squads are 4-4-7, including postseason play, since that time.
