Varsity Boys Soccer
Menlo School 3, Priory 0
Date of competition: Friday, January 16, 2015
The Menlo School boys beat visiting Priory, 3-0, for their third consecutive West Bay Athletic League soccer win and first shutout of the season. The Knights (5-4-1 overall, 3-1 in league) took the lead early in the first half when junior defender Matt Joss rose highest on a dangerous corner from senior captain Jackson Wagner and headed the ball into the top corner. The Knights dominated possession the rest of the half and put some pressure on the Panthers' goal.
Menlo doubled its lead just before halftime when sophomore winger Zach Davila got on the end of a great pass from junior winger Tyler McGraw and neatly tucked it away for his second goal of the season. Junior forward Will Chisholm scored his fifth goal of the week at the start of the second half after another dangerous corner from Wagner. The Knights saw the game out, with junior keeper James Adler and senior keeper Alex Moore combining for the shutout.
