The Menlo School boys bounced back from a loss to open the West Bay Athletic League season and topped visiting Harker, 3-2, on Friday to move to 1-1 in league (3-4-1 overall). The Knights started the game well and were ahead in the first minute. Junior forward Will Chisholm collected the rebound after his initial shot was saved and set up freshman winger Dylan Williams for his third goal of the season. Harker equalized midway through the half after some confusion on a set piece. Junior defender Michael Quezada put the Knights back in the lead shortly before halftime after Williams did well to win the initial service off a dangerous corner from captain Jackson Wagner.

Harker again battled back and was level early in the second half. The Eagles were awarded a generous free kick and found their star striker open in the middle box, where he confidently put the ball by Menlo senior goalie Alex Moore to get his team back in the game.

Menlo found the winner with 15 minutes to play after Wagner and Williams combined to play junior forward Tyler McGraw in on goal. McGraw confidently slotted the ball past the Harker goalie and into the side netting for his third goal of the season and an important three points for the Knights.
