Varsity Boys Soccer
Santa Cruz 4, Menlo School 1
Date of competition: Friday, January 2, 2015
Menlo School took on a tough and talented Santa Cruz soccer team on Friday and came away with a 4-1 loss. The Menlo boys (1-3-1) found themselves down, 1-0, early and struggled to deal with the pace and quality of the Cardinal strikers -- conceding a second goal shortley. Menlo narrowed its deficit before halftime when senior captain Jackson Wagner played a corner kick to the back post, where junior Will Chisholm flicked the shot to junior Michael Quezada, who scored from close range. Menlo gave up a goal in the second half and, after missing a penalty kick, gave up a fourth goal in the dying moments.
