Sacred Heart Prep grad Tom Kremer helped the Stanford men’s swimming team dominate the prelims with his top mark of 1:35.82 in the 200 free during Friday’s prelims at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, TX.
Kremer led a Stanford contingent that swam the four fastest qualifying marks in the event and qualified six. Drew Cosgarea (1:36.70), Thomas Stephens (1:37.02), and Sam Perry (1:37.56) followed Kremer, with Sean Duggan and Jeff Garnier also qualifying for the championship final.
The Cardinal also had at least the top two times in the 400 IM, 100 fly and 100 back.
Dave Nolan went 46.74 and Palo Alto grad Andrew Liang went 48.17 to pace the 100 back. Ryan Arata and Patrick Conaton also qualified for the ‘A’ final.
Liang (47.31) was right behind Gray Umbach (47.30) in the 100 fly, while Connor Black was third and Jimmy Yoder fifth.
Sophomore Max Williams (3:49.19), freshman Curtis Ogren (3:51.51) and Danny Thomson (3:54.12) went 1-2-3 in the 400 IM.
Daniel Le and Christian Brown qualified for the championship final of the 100 breast.
