Stanford in prelims, Art Adamson Invitational

Stanford freshman Simone Manuel recorded her second automatic NCAA qualifying time at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, TX on Friday during prelims of the 200 free.
Manuel went 1:43.01 to set the pace. Sophomore Lia Neal had the second fastest qualifying mark, swimming a 1:45.70. Grace Carlson also qualified for Friday night’s championship final.
Cardinal women also went 1-2 in each the 100 breast and 100 back, and had four qualify for the ‘A’ final in the 100 fly.
Freshmen Janet Hu (52.18) and Sacred Heart Prep grad Ally Howe (52.41) topped the backstroke, with senior Maddy Schaefer was sixth.
Hu qualified second in the 100 fly, followed by Lindsey Engel, Manuel and Mackenzie Stein.
Sarah Haase (59.91) and Heidi Poppe (59.94) paced the 100 breast. Tara Halsted swims in the ‘A’ final of the 400 IM.
