The Stanford women dominated the 50 free prelims Thursday at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, TX.
Freshman Simone Manuel placed first with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 21.81. She was followed by senior Maddy Schaefer (21.99) in a swift field. Freshman Janet Hu (22.26) was fourth and sophomore Lia Neal (22.65) sixth.
The Cardinal also had two swimmers qualify for the ‘B’ finals in junior Julia Ama (22.79) and freshman Lindsey Engel (23.19).
Hu was Stanford’s top swimmer in the 200 IM, with the 10th best qualifying mark of 1:59.47, good enough for the NCAA ‘B’ standard. Sacred Heart Prep grad Ally Howe was 13th in an NCAA ‘B’ time of 2:00.13.
Juniors Julia Anderson (4:48.67) and Allison Brown (4:48.83) qualified for the championship finals of the 500 free.
