Palo Alto junior Katie Francis scored four goals, including the winner, to carry the No. 10-seeded Vikings to a 9-8 victory over No. 7 Carlmont in a Central Coast Section Division I second round girls' water polo match in the Vikings' pool on Thursday night. Paly showed great resiliency as it stormed back from a 3-O deficit. Junior Gigi Rojahn sniped two goals from the perimeter and captain Tess van Hulsen powered home two additional goals in the intense back-and-forth contest. Captain Olivia Scola added a perfect set goal before Francis got the game-winner in the final minute. Paly's defense was solid as goalie Jo-Jo Falla had a career-high 12 saves.
