Foluke Akinradewo had 20 kills and hit at an .833 clip as the No. 3 Stanford women’s volleyball team beat William and Mary, 25-13, 25-17, 25-13, in the first day of the Billiken Invitational in St. Louis on Friday. The senior stepped up with 20 kills in 24 swings, and Stanford cruised to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-13 victory. Stanford improves to 3-1 on the year, while William & Mary (3-1) suffered its first loss of the year. Sophomore Cassidy Lichtman had 24 assists and 11 digs, while libero Gabi Ailes recorded 16 digs. Stanford (3-1) plays twice on Saturday, meeting No. 19 Illinois at 11 a.m. (PT), followed by a match with host Saint Louis at 5 p.m.
