For the second time in as many matches, the Oaks have gotten revenge against a team within the conference, handily defeating La Sierra, 25-15, 25-6, 21-25, 25-13, on Friday afternoon.
The win was the second in a row for Menlo in which they turned the table on a team that beat them in three sets earlier this year.
In the first game, the Oaks hit .400 as a team to .086 from La Sierra. That theme would carry on throughout the match as Menlo finished hitting .302 and La Sierra just .070.
The second set featured an even more dominating effort from the navy and white, holding the conference's top-ranked team to just six points. It all started with a 7-0 run, then, Menlo mounted a 10-4 run to make it 17-4. They would finish it off, winning 25-6 to take a 2-0 advantage.
La Siera responded with a third-game rally in which they took it 25-21 from the Oaks, but Menlo would thwart the rally with another dominating performance in the fourth set, winning 25-13.
Courtney Calicdan paced Menlo with a 21-kill, 12-dig effort. Bayley Blackney was the only other Oak with double-digit kills with 11.
Kelly Sung led the charge with 41 assists and Courntey Wong was the team's leader in digs with 14. Two other players, Calicdan and Sung had double-digits digs with 12 and 11 respectively.
The win drew Menlo within a half-game of La Sierra with three conference matches remaining. Next up for the Oaks is a Saturday afternoon Cal Pac clash with Embry-Riddle. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
